About
Allison’s Story
I’m Allison Wohl, the professional organizer behind Rocket to Mars Organizing.
Being organized has always been a part of my life.
Growing up in Atlanta, my mom used to make my brother and me safety-pin our socks together before putting them in the hamper so the ‘dryer snatcher’ couldn't steal one and break up a pair.
So after growing up in a home where Ziploc bags, Post-It notes, and safety pins reigned supreme, I realized my mom’s efforts to keep the house in order were so we could enjoy the time we had together at home - instead of searching for a missing sock. She was my own Marie Kondo!
Fast forward a couple of decades.
After a career of working with children with special needs, raising 3 sons, and taking care of a dog, a husband, and a household, I have never been more grateful for the lessons in organization my mom passed down. I find comfort in order and rely on its benefits to save time and keep frustrations at bay so I can focus on the things I want to do and the people I want to spend time with.
What’s in a Name?
After going through dozens of potential company names, Rocket to Mars materialized as a name with both professional and personal meaning.
Professional
For many people, the act of decluttering and organizing their space can seem more than overwhelming - it can seem as difficult as getting to Mars.
Personal
My trusty sidekick is my canine love, our labradoodle, Rocket. The other loves of my life are my three sons, whose names start with the letters M, A, and R. (My husband is an A as well, but Rocket to Mara didn’t have the same punch…)
